Frequently Asked Question

Is this virutal fieldtrip for ditr members only or can adults particpate?
While it was designed with Diamond In The Rough members in mind, it is open to friends and family of DITR members and volunteers, as well as those associated with our collaborative partners STEM Atlanta Women and Wells International Foundation.  It is an experience for the whole family.
What can we expect to experience during the virtual fieldtrip?
We are offering a unique experience which includes interactive activities as well as a coordinated and narrated guided tour with special guest Monique Wells, who is a resident of Paris France and a collaborative partner of this project.  The guided virtual walking tour will highlight specific historic sites specific to the Black experience.  The guided tour will allow for live questions from the audience as well as additional resources for further insight.

In addition, participants will have an opportunity to win prizes and to fully engage with other members in fun-filled activities designed to provide a fully memorable experience.

Do each of my family members have to register?
Each paid registration is good for ONE DEVICE ONLY.  Families in the same home are welcome to gather around one device to experience the virtual fieldtrip or they can register multiple times to utilize multiple devices.
are participants required to use special equipment or software to partcipate?

Participation requires access to a computer, laptop or tablet that has a video, a camera  and quality sound for the best experience.  The software that will be used is Zoom.  It is recommended that participants download the FREE Zoom app on the device by visiting https://zoom.us/ prior to the fieldtrip.
How can I register and how do I connect?
Upon registering for the virtual event, your reservation will be secured and will be followed with an initial communication beginning the week of December 7th including your virtual travel information and details on how to connect on December 19th.  THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TO BE SHARED.  In addition, those who  are among the first 100 to register will also receive a BONUS: Painting Paris Pink Package by mail with additional goodies.   These items are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.
