Red Ribbon Week is a national anti-drug prevention  campaign aimed at educating youth about the harmful effects of alcohol, drugs, & substance. Join the members of Diamond In The Rough as we take a stand against drugs and celebrate National Red Ribbon Week (October 23rd - October 31st). ​ You are invited to join us in our week long social media challenge and to show your support for this worthy cause.

Join the Gems & Jewels of Diamond In The Rough as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week with our Social Media Challenge.  Each day you are encouraged to take part in our daily challenge.  Take a selfie or photo and email it to redribbon@ditr.org.

PLEDGE POWER: Pledge to be drug free or to help kids and teens stay clean.  Visit  http://redribbon.org/pledge/ to take the pledge and then take a picture of yourself in something red.  Send picture to RedRibbon@ditr.org.  

Day 2

​R.E.S.P.E.C.T Yourself: Take a video of you dancing or singing to a variation of  Aretha Franklin's R.E.S.P.E.C.T. using the words below: 

R.E.S.P.E.C.T., I don't want drugs in me
R.E.S.P.E.C.T. because, I love me!!!

Day 3

SOCK IT TO DRUGS:  Don't allow drugs to ruin your life.  Take a stand and "sock it" to drugs.  Show your support by taking a picture of you in your wildest pair of socks.  Don't have any?  Well consider designing a special red ribbon pair and send your picture to RedRiboon@ditr.org.

FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS DO DRUGS:  There is power in numbers.  Today, take a picture with a friend and make a commitment to hold each other accountable in your pledge to remain drug and alcohol free.  Send your picture to RedRibbon@ditr.org

Day 5

MY FUTURE'S TOO BRIGHT FOR DRUGS:  You are going places, blazing trails on a mission to fulfill all your dreams.  Take a picture of you in your favorite shades to represent the fact that you know Your Future is TOO Bright for Drugs.  Send your picture to to RedRibbon@ditr.org.

  • More teens die from prescription drugs than heroin/cocaine combined.
  • Teens who consistently learn about the risks of drugs from their parents are up to 50% less likely to use drugs than those who don't.
  • 90% of Americans with a substance abuse problem starting smoking, drinking or using other drugs before age 18.

Take the Pledge

Pledge for Teenagers:
 
I__________________., pledge not to consume any alcohol while under the legal age. By pledging I am aware of consequences of teenage consumption of alcohol, and how it could alter my future and goals. With that being said, I promise to save alcohol for adulthood.

Pledge for Adults: 21+

I _________________, pledge to refrain from buying alcohol for minors, and from encouraging teen drinking. By signing this pledge I understand teen drinking is illegal, and has the chance of hindering a teenager’s life and future.
